Singing in the rain.
Carrying some straw to make a nest. The internets say that males are attentive partners, helping to build the nest and bringing seeds to females and chicks. Today, though, the male was watching from the sidelines.
It’s a cardinal. It’s a day.
Should I sing or should I eat? Elm buds don't look that tempting... I guess I'll sing some more.

When it is cold and gray we do what we can to stay warm.
Yet another "dramatic lighting" entry. In her case I did manage to sidle around for a sunlit shot, but she flitted away at the last moment. I guess she didn't like the hawk that settled on a neighbouring tree.
The local pond planted with natives and backed by a small wooded area lets us pretend we are not in the city for a while (if you ignore the trucks rumbling in the background), but sometimes the best spot to sing out to the world is on top of a lamp post.

This guy and two girls were flitting through the trees going who knows where. It was nice of them to stop long enough to say hi.
Birds are scarce today so I takes what I gets, sticks and all.

It's a bright and sunny day. The boys are out racing, but I'm happy to watch. At least a dozen times around the houses at high speed. It must have been exhausting!
